The First Lady
The First Lady is a documentary about the origins of Eve, set to release in 2022. So, who was Eve? What do we know, or think we know about the mother of civilization? How have we come to have any understanding of a human being who may have ‘appeared’ seven million years ago in Africa. This documentary explores the woman and the myth.
The Goal
The goal with this brief was to create a film title and internal graphic elements for this documentary film that is set to hit theaters in 2022.
Process
The Creation of Humanity - First Pass
When I was coming up with the concept for the title sequence, the idea of utilizing a statue with a projection over it kept popping up in my head, so that is what I started off with.
Museum Construction - Second Pass
With further development of my concept, I started to build an environment around the statues to have a location tied to the objects themselves, so that they aren’t floating in a void. Then I played around with the camera angles and pacing.
The Final Product
After many revisions and quite a few versions, this is what I ended up with!
